Other concerns raised by our stakeholders
Our fishermen raised concerns about job security regarding the current Covid-19 pandemic. To address this, as anchor management we would like to assure our employees that there will not be any layoffs due to the pandemic. In terms of the toilets, once the lockdown is over, a maintenance team will be sent to fix the problem on each boat. We would also like to encourage our employees to practice safe hygiene when using the toilets. Employees need to recall that they are on duty and thus pets are not allowed. Wifi will be provided only where it is crucial to complete tasks.
The use of FADs and purse-seining to fish limits by-catch and thus catching other sea life such as dolphins is extremely low. In very unlikely cases where by-catch occurs, our fishermen are skilled to safely return them to the sea at the moment that they are caught.
For every effect there is a root cause, it there makes sense to fix the root. In terms of ensuring that our customers provide quality fresh fish, we as the root and anchor aim to fulfil our mission and provide the best quality fresh fish to them.
